Activity 1- Australian Curriculum: English (ACARA, 2022)

The aim is to help students develop the skills necessary to investigate, analyse and communicate ideas and information related to sustainability, and to advocate, generate and evaluate actions for sustainable futures

  • The activities will cover the effects of not recycling properly and guide the student to how it affects Andy the Atmosphere, Ollie the Ocean and Ellie the Earth.

The content in the language, literature and literacy strands is key to developing and sharing knowledge about social, economic and ecological systems and world views that promote social justice

  • Here we look at what social justice means, and how Sophie is a social justice warrior and cares so much for all voiceless or underrepresented living creatures. We also explore how powerful working as a team is and therefore the benefits of joining a junior ranger’s program. There is already a junior ranger’s program in Victoria, and the possibility of making contact and creating a nationwide group may be possible.

In this learning area, students may interrogate a range of texts to shape their decision-making in relation to sustainability.

  • Here I will provide links in the Sustainability tab above to environmental sites with activities for kids such as NASA and National Geographic.

They develop the understanding and skills necessary to act responsibly and create texts that inform and persuade others to take action for sustainable futures.

  • The activities could be the students can create a story book with simple drawing and key texts that corresponds to their understanding of the animation.

A Teacher's Survey will be placed here so we can get feedback on the efficacy of the animation
